ISO/TS
16949:2002 is the Global Quality System standard recognized by the
major OEM automotive manufacturers in North America and Europe. This
standard includes ISO 9001:2000, as well as additional automotive
specific requirements. This standard replaces the QS-9000 standard.
Key Safety Systems is required to pass a Quality System audit by an
external third party organization specializing in Quality System
certification every 6 months at each location in order to maintain
the registration of our Quality System. This registration is
required by all major OEM customers in order to maintain existing
business and bid on new business.
All Key
Safety Systems sites supplying Ford Motor Company greater than 18
months have received the Ford Q1-2002 award. To receive this award, we
must be QS-9000 and ISO 14001 registered, pass a Quality System
Assessment every 6 months and maintain world class product Quality and
Delivery performance on a monthly basis. This award is required by
Ford in order to maintain existing business and bid on new business.
ISO 14001
Environmental Management System Registration - ISO 14001 is the
Environmental Management System standard recognized by all industries
worldwide. This registration is similar in format to QS-9000, except
that it focuses on the organizations Environmental Management System.
VDA 6.1
is the German Quality System standard. Key Safety Systems is required
to pass a Quality System audit by an external third party organization
specializing in Quality System certification every 6 months at each
location in order to maintain the registration of our Quality System.
This registration is recommended by all major German OEM customers in
order to maintain existing business and bid on new business. The Key
Safety Systems European Airbag operations (Colleferro, Raunheim and
Villastellone) are registered to the standard.
